Are your most important computer files backed up safely and securely? What would you do if your computer was damaged by flood, fire, theft or something as simple as a virus? What would you do if your hard drive failed? We see “dead” hard drives all the time!
Without a good backup system in place, you risk losing some or all of your precious data should the unexpected occur. We think it is just not worth the risk.
We can recommend a variety of data backup solutions. We have an option for every budget and every situation. Whether you want to have a second copy of your family photos or you have years worth of emails you just have to keep on file – we can help!
We know that sometimes mistakes happen. Sometimes you accidentally hit ‘delete’ when you really didn’t want to. Or you didn’t even hit delete – all your data just ‘disappeared’ !
Sometimes your data can be recovered from your computer, external hard drive, camera memory cards etc. And sometimes (if you are lucky) this can be a relatively simple process.
What we see most commonly are computers with hard drives that are failing – but have not yet completely failed. In these instances we do our best to get as much data as possible from the drive before it becomes completely unusable.
If you have physically damaged the drive however (such as dropping it when it was being used), things can get far more complicated and require specialist technical assistance. In these situations, we have a trusted technician that we can send the drives to, to have them evaluated. Be prepared to spend big though – these companies charge around $1000 to recover your data and sometimes more.
