Everyday we have people looking at buying a new computer but are confused at what to choose as their friends say they need an i7 with lots of grunt and their kids tell them they need to go out and buy the latest and greatest Apple Macbook Pro.
If you go into the “Big Chain stores” the sales person will be trying to sell you the latest and greatest with all the bells and whistles that you will probably never even use let alone understand what it does just so they can line their pockets with commissions at the end of the month, and the saddest part is once you have got your product and left the store chances are if you were to return in a week with some questions not only will they not be wanting to help but they probably wont even know the answers.
We like to go with a horses for courses approach theres no point paying for a high performance rig that is NASA could call you to land the space shuttle.
What type of user are you?
Are you a casual just checking your emails, reading the latest news articles or updating your facebook status?
Chances are you will be fine with a Dual Core machine such as a Pentium or an i3 system with 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard drive and just standard graphics which should set you back between $500-$750 mark.
Are you a user that likes to do a bit of video or sound editing? Even playing around with Photoshop?
You may want to look at a Quad Core processor an i5 would be ok 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive ( maybe even an Solid State Hard Drive) and an above average video card will be perfect.
Are you a busy multi-tasker building websites or a master sniper on Battlefield?
Chances are you will be one of few that are I need of some hard core performance to have the edge on your rivals.
At very least you will want a High end Quad Core processor, at least 8GB RAM but preferably 16GB, a Solid State Hard Drive and a video card that can handle any graphics you can throw at it maybe even 2 video cards running together be the envy of all your friends.
If you’re unsure what type of user you are or just unsure how much horsepower your new computer needs, come in and have a chat and we can either find something to suit you or we can custom build.
